Ernest Davis Awakessien is a seasoned agricultural development professional and public sector leader with over 20 years of experience in agricultural policy, rural transformation, and institutional development. He serves as a Director in a State Ministry of Agriculture, where he drives initiatives that strengthen food systems and improve rural livelihoods. He holds degrees in Agricultural Economics and Extension and Political Science and Public Diplomacy, and is certified in Agricultural Value Chain Financing by the AFRACA Institute. Mr. Awakessien has extensive expertise in agricultural value chain finance, project management, stakeholder engagement, and policy development. He is passionate about developing innovative financing solutions that empower farmers, strengthen agribusinesses, and promote inclusive, sustainable agricultural transformation across Africa.

Erhunmwonsere O. Sunday

Assistant Director, NASSP

Erhunmwonsere O. Sunday is a distinguished agriculture and rural development leader with over 15 years of experience in public sector governance, agricultural transformation, and donor-funded development programmes across Nigeria and Tanzania. He has served as Functioning Permanent Secretary and Director of Agriculture Services in the Edo State Ministry of Agriculture, providing strategic leadership for agricultural policy and programme implementation. His extensive experience includes coordinating major development initiatives such as IFAD’s Rural Finance Institution Building Programme (RUFIN) and the World Bank-supported Fadama III Project. Currently serving as an Assistant Director with NASSP, he leads community engagement and awareness campaigns that promote sustainable development. A graduate of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, with an MSc in Animal Science, Mr. Sunday brings practical insights into agricultural leadership, value chain development, and rural transformation.

Mr. Usen Udofia is a highly accomplished Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) professional with over 25 years of experience spanning the oil and gas, power, marine, and public sectors. A NEBOSH-certified safety expert, he has held key HSE leadership roles with Shell, TotalEnergies, Ibom Power Company, and NPDC, overseeing Permit-to-Work systems, contractor safety, regulatory compliance, and high-value industrial projects. He has also served as a consultant to the Akwa Ibom State Government, supporting strategic initiatives within the Ministries of Agriculture and Internal Revenue. Nse Okon Inyang is a distinguished rural development and agricultural finance systems expert with over 30 years of experience in agricultural programme design, rural finance, enterprise development, and policy formulation. He is the Executive Director of Integrated Aid Initiative (IAI), where he leads initiatives in value chain entrepreneurship, institutional capacity building, rural microfinance, and market development. An Agronomist and Environmentalist by training, Mr. Inyang is an International Labour Organization (ILO)-certified trainer in Women Entrepreneurship Development and Adult Learning Management. He has provided technical leadership to major donor-funded programmes supported by IFAD, the World Bank, the European Union, AGRA, and the Petroleum Trust Fund. A retired Deputy Director of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, he remains a respected practitioner and champion of inclusive agricultural transformation across Africa.

He has served as Head of Programmes and On-Air Presenter at Redemption 101.5 FM, where he led content development, political discourse, and audience engagement initiatives. A bilingual communicator fluent in English and French, he has also worked as a translator and broadcaster in Cameroon, and currently anchors live current affairs programmes on Global TV, Abuja. With a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism and expertise in media management, stakeholder engagement, and public communication, Mr. Anietie brings valuable insights on strategic communication, media advocacy, and promoting agricultural value chain development through effective public engagement.
