Project & Investment Development Consultant

Help build AVCF-PIMS into a commercially sustainable Pan-African platform for agricultural finance, investment, enterprise and market access.

THE OPPORTUNITY

From agricultural lending to agricultural profitability

Farmwatch Hub invites applications from experienced, commercially minded professionals to help develop AVCF-PIMS 2027. The platform is being repositioned beyond a conventional conference, culminating in an Agricultural Finance & Investment Deal Room.

Its purpose is to connect financial institutions, development finance institutions, investors, agribusinesses, farmers, cooperatives, aggregators, processors, off-takers, technology and FinTech companies, insurers, government institutions and development partners. The ambition is to turn conversations into bankable opportunities, strategic partnerships and transactions.

Event theme: Catalyzing Sustainable Agricultural Transformation through Value Chain Finance, Product Innovation and Strategic Partnerships.

THE ASSIGNMENT

What the consultant will lead

The consultant will develop and execute strategies across five connected workstreams.

01

Resource mobilisation & fundraising

Secure financial and in-kind support from banks, microfinance banks, DFIs, development partners, government institutions, corporates, foundations, investors, agribusinesses and strategic partners. Develop compelling sponsorship, partnership and investment propositions.

02

Platform commercialisation

Develop revenue opportunities through strategic partnerships, Deal Room participation, corporate value-chain partnerships, executive masterclasses, investment-readiness services, enterprise profiling, exhibitions, investment intelligence and deal facilitation.

03

Investment & deal pipeline

Build a structured pipeline of bankable agricultural opportunities. Profile enterprises seeking finance, investors, off-takers, processors, farmers and cooperatives, technology and equipment suppliers, insurers and logistics providers. Turn the “I NEED / I OFFER” framework into a working transaction-matching system.

04

Stakeholder mobilisation

Build senior-level relationships across banks, investors, funds, DFIs, government agencies, development partners, agribusinesses, universities, research institutions, farmer organisations and international agricultural organisations.

05

Project delivery

Support work planning, milestones, budget and risk monitoring, programme development, stakeholder coordination, reporting, monitoring and evaluation, and follow-up on transactions after the summit.
